Grow a Gritty HERO's Mindset is for any university student who wants to study with more staying power: first-years finding their feet, students in the long middle of a degree, and final-years heading for what comes next.
HERO stands for Hope, Efficacy, Resilience and Optimism, held together by a growth mindset and grit. Each is a skill you can practise on your own life. In this course you practise keeping at a long goal, seeing a setback as information, building belief from your own past successes, bouncing back and asking for help, and holding hope as goals, willpower and waypower.
There are seven modules, one a week if you can, each with a reader, short films and tools that keep your own private record. Be Well and Feeling at Home opens with eight check-ins, from grit and hope to stress mindset, and with stories of how senior students found their feet. Believe in Yourself in the Big Moments includes the Victory Log and Design Your Pre-Exam Ritual. Bounce Back Better includes Learning How to Ask for Help. In Bringing It Together you say in your own words what you learned and where you will use it, and write Your Final Essay.
I suggest you begin with the first module and take the eight check-ins before anything else, so that at the end you can read your later numbers beside your earlier ones. Only you see them. You can try the whole course free for a day. An educator can also present it to a class, a residence or a mentoring group with its facilitator deck and guide.
