This course is for a learner who wants to work upstream of a situation rather than only react to it: a student who meets the same hard subject term after term, a final-year student deciding what deserves their attention, an adult learner at a crossroads between paths.
Before Happiness is about perception, the step before you respond. Here you practise choosing, from several equally true readings of a situation, the one that is true, helpful and growth-producing. From there you map your weeks around what gives you meaning, turn down the noise, and share a more helpful reading with the people around you. Where parts of the original science have since been challenged, the course says so plainly and uses current research instead.
After a foundation module with a baseline, the course walks five skills, one module each. Rethinking Stress turns a well-known stress-mindset reframe into a practice you can use before a test or a deadline. Choose the Most Valuable Reality scores three readings of one situation, and Add Vantage Points looks at it from new angles. The X-Spot Planner builds a head start and milestones into one goal, such as a project or a term's work. The Four Criteria Audit runs your daily information diet through four tests. You close by retaking the baseline and writing a Letter to Your Future Self.
I suggest you begin with the Foundation module and its baseline, so you see what has moved when you take it again at the end. The Power of Beliefs, also in Learning to think, works one step further upstream, on belief itself. A free twenty-four-hour trial of the whole course lets you look around first.
